Monkbam Studios is a small, cosy audio recording facility based south of Boston, Massachusetts. It houses a tracking room, some iso booths, and a control room. Unlike many post-production facilities, our roots are in rock and roll. In the beginning, we catered primarily to full album projects by indie rock bands, singer & songwriter albums, acoustic folk groups, offsite audio recording and voiceover recording.

Today, we handle multimedia audio production, forensic audio (for lawyers and other legal clients), foley effects, and even some video production.

Q: What is a Lomo 19a19?

A: It's a Soviet-era microphone that sounds amazing. It uses a miniature tube and has an extremely pleasant and deep bottom end, with just the right amount of top. It's especially great for vocals, but will do on most anything.
